-Troop 1032 Blog-Day 7 - 8/1/2010 Today our troops enjoyed some adventurous activities. Half our troops completed challenge valley + 2 other activities of the PL's selection, or waterslide + 2 other activities. I had the privelage of being able to follow around all the patrols that attended the waterslide activities. The patrols 4-6 had waterslide activities and 1-3 had challenge valley activities. On the last day of activities at AJ2010 the patrols will swap and complete the adventurous activities not already completed. On offer for the patrols was abseiling, alpine rescue, waterslides, rock climbing, flying fox and geocaching. Obviously the more daring activities were rather popular and I found myself joining in the fun of rock climbing with Simon's patrol (4), the flying fox with Jake's patrol (6) and the massive inflatable waterslide with them as well.
The highlight for most was the waterslide with the opportunity to escape the humidity and have some fun in the water. The venturers had much delight in wetting down the scouts at every available opportunity.
Our injuries for the day went to Michelle and Hamish with Michelle getting "massive air and then ground." She had small gravel burn and is very brave.
The night time entertainment was at the mini arena and the disco was pretty popular with the scouts and the vennies (Venturer Scouts Age 15+) alike.
Tomorrow we have Market Day with approx 10600 more people attending the Jamboree site. All the subcamps will have their markets setup for visitors and scouts alike. Our stall is sure to popular so please visit. See you tomorrow, Adam M Day 14 - 15/1/2010
