-Troop 1032 Blog-Day 5 - 6/1/2010 Day 5 was on-site activities for Troop 1032, this involved free time and Brown Sea Island Activity Base. Patrols 1-3 took off to Brown Sea Island first up from 9-12pm, whilst Patrols 4-6 took the time to catch up on some house duties and did some cleaning.
Much to the surprise of the leaders the kids could actually hand wash most of their clothes. The was a little disbelief from the kids that washing machines weren't available.
Guy hanging out the clothes (take note parents - hehe) After a delcious cold meat roll lunch, and after re-applying sunscreen, the patrols that had free time this morning now went to Brown Sea Island. Our clever scouts whilst out around the jamboree village decided to try clutch starting an automatic golf buggy... quite amusing to watch. Ashame the other leader didnt see the funny side of it.
The Main arena featured a carnival with amusement park rides and all! There was a few of the oldies favourites (a giant slide) and dodgem cars. I managed to catch up with our Venturer crew and funnily enough they were more than happy to smile for a photo...
1st Wearne Bay Venturer Crew Tonight our troop also decided to have crazy hair night with most of the scouts getting into it and having some outrageous hair designs created by our master hair designer "Loney's Styles and Cuts".
Today has been a relatively relaxed day which is good considering the busy days we have had recently. Tomorrow is Jamberoo Recreation Park day, with our whole troop visiting the park. Should be a great day! To date we haven't had any serious injuries and are very lucky. Unfortunately, one of Subcamp 3's troops have been put into lockdown and no one is allowed to leave or enter the site without being cleared by the doctors. With a gastro bug of some sort going through that troop which displayed lack of basic hygiene, the troops have had the importance of hygiene re-inforced. To improve our health one of our scouts decided he would increase the amount of green vegetables he would eat.
Thanks Sam for introducing us to your favourite (pea sandwich) Adam M Day 14 - 15/1/2010 Previous Days
