Day 10 - Mon 11/1/2010

Today our troop were split once again into Patrols 1-3 and 4-6. Patrols 4-6 had free time in the morning and then had Skills village (Try a Trade) in the afternoon. Whilst Patrols 1-3 had Cirque du Scout in the morning followed by Brownsea Island in the afternoon.

Free time was used to do some cleaning of the most required items... socks and undies, and to spend time at the internet cafe, calling parents, and getting ice creams from the mini mart.

Cirque du Scout is like a circus setup designed to make scouts smile and learn some tricks and skills required by many performing artists in a circus. This starts with dressing like a clown and makeup like a clown.

Sam was probably the most talented on the rolla bolla, with Koby showing amazing skills with the juggling and devil sticks.

Skills include balance on the rolla bolla, hand eye co-ordination with juggling and devil sticks, and doing forward rolls and gymnastics on a padded matt.

Skills Village in the afternoon shows the scouts a small glimpse of all the different trades ranging from tiling floors and walls, to arc and mig welding, plumbing and electrical. Our scouts decided to try electrical with

The nights entertainment was provided by FMX and Moto Riders that were represented by local talent and crusty demons.

The show was incredible and for myself and most of the scouts the first time seeing the Crusty Demons in real life. The skills, technique and courage (or stupidity) to be able to do some of the stunts they did was insane.

At the end of the show, they met with the scouts and signed autographs for the fans that watched. We headed back after the show for a nice dessert of tinned fruit and custard.

Well after a long day the scouts and in bed and I'm signing out for now,
