-Troop 1032 Blog-Hi everyone, my name is Vang, (Adam- 1st Wearne Bay) each day I will be able to upload exciting posts of what we have been up to including images and some funny stories the scouts would like to contribute. Day 1 - 2/1/2010 ARRIVAL DAY - SETUP The big day arrives AJ2010 begins for NSW contingent. The bus arrived at 7:45am for those from 3rd Rose Bay. 1st Wearne Bay and 1st Kyle Bay were picked up from Blaxland Drive tennis courts in Illawong.
We stopped at a staging location for about 2 mins which is fantastic as most groups had to wait a lot longer. Some previous jamborees had waiting times of up to 5 hours. We arrived at 8:30am at subcamp 10, campsite 1032.
After setting up the luggage storeroom, Quartermaster Storeroom and the kitchen prep area the heavens decided to open and it rained like crazy! Luckily with a bit of quick team work and the use of pallets and tables most of us stayed dry and equipment dry enough. Lunch included cold meat rolls with salad, and dinner was a delicious steak sandwich with beetroot, lettuce and tomato cooked superbly by the duty patrol led by Matt Gardiner.
The campsite is now complete and the some of the duty patrol are just cleaning up now.
The music is playing, the lights are on and the scouts are about to head to bed. It has been a busy day with lots of work completed and the scouts are looking forward to the many activities planned for the coming days.
Well for now... Good Night and see you on Visitors Day! Adam M Day 2 - 3/1/2010 If you wish to know more about 1st Wearne Bay Scouts and joining us... click here!
